This week the Network Members’ crew had the honour of connecting with money mindset mentor Denise Duffield-Thomas during our November Live Q&A.
One Member, Joanna, asked Denise about how someone can get started with their manifesting, especially if they are new to it all and think it’s a bit woo-woo.
This simple question, brought some ah-ha moments for me, thanks to Denise’s ability to keep things simple and very relatable.
Denise gave us her starting-out tips (that are usually only reserved for Members of her Money Bootcamp course), but was quick to add, “To manifest, just means, to make it real. Manifesting is not magic. You have to take action and show the Universe you’re ready to receive. You can’t sit around and hope someone knocks on your door and hands you a cheque.”
As someone who can fall under a heavy slump of “woe is me” more often than not, this was a wonderful message to hear. And I received it with big ears and open arms!
Getting Shit Done (GSD) has actually never been my weakest link. In fact, I think sometimes I rush in so fast, I don’t send much time contemplating the potential outcomes and then wonder why things fall flat or don’t happen as fast as they should (i.e. on my schedule).
But Denise’s message, combined with those we heard last month from The Remarkables’ Lorraine Murphy, and I realise that having a GSD attitude isn’t a negative. Let’s face it, getting shit done and taking action is better than no action at all.
I don’t want to be a wanna-be, I want to be a made-it.
Yes, there are many reasons why you could stop, take time, consider your options and weigh up all the pros and cons. That’s your prerogative, but don’t fall in to the trap of stopping there Woman Rising.
When the excuses and delays get bigger than the action and progress, ask yourself what it is that’s genuinely holding you back. What lies deep beneath the surface that is subconsciously stopping you from moving forward and getting shit done?
Break free from that. Give yourself permission to let go and move forward, and then watch the Universe take notice and realise you’re ready. Then I’m sure it will be happy to play because she knows you’re serious.
Tell me in the comments below, are you one to dive in and GSD or do you contemplate and wait for the ‘right’ time?
